Product Catalog

One of the main tasks that System Administrator will need to do is to manage Product Catalog. You can think of a Product as a collection of all Versions, installation scripts, references to images of Software Packages (images of physical media), hardware and software prerequisites associated wit this product. Here is an example of Microsoft Word Product hierarchy once it defined in the ESD:




On this fragment you can see three levels of hierarchy, Product (Microsoft Word®), Version (Microsoft Word® 6.0, 7.0 and 2003) and multiple installation methods for each of the version.
