ADMLink ESD Product Infrastructure
ESD product infrastructure consists of following components:
- ESD Server that stores information about products, manages dialogues with ESD Agents and supports ESD Administrative Console. ESD Server under normal conditions is running all the time. Currently, only one ESD Server can be running in the enterprise
- ESD Package Repository holds images of physical media of original software. Repository could be located on the same physical server as ESD Server or could be located elsewhere on the network. There could be multiple Repositories in the Enterprise
- ESD Agents are small programs that are installed on all managed nodes (target computers) and are ready to receive instructions from ESD servers
- ESD Administrative Console is GUI based applications that lets System Administrator to access all features of the system. There are could be multiple Administrative Consoles running at the same time
